Drew Camron has arrived

When I last posted Meghan and I thought our son would never come. Turns out not too long after posting our son Drew decided he was ready to enter the world. After 35+ hours of laboring, and lots of tough decisions, Drew was finally born. Our original goal was to have a natural child birth, and in the beginning things were great. Meghan started laboring at 7pm Friday. It was a long night of timing contractions. We finally went to the hospital at 4pm the next day to find out Meghan was 6cm dilated. At that point we all thought the baby would be born in no time...unfortunately that wasn't quite the case. To make a long story short, meghan could not get to 10 cm no matter what we tried. The baby was positioned in way that just wasn't helping. So our first step was to break the water. Although we originally didn't want to break the water, we finally said let's do it ....but that didn't help either. It's now 1am and Meghan is wiped out, so our next big decision was for an epideral and some Poitocin. This was not in our birth plan but Meghan was completely wiped, so we went for it. That seemed to do the trick as by 3am Meghan was now fully dilated. At 4:30 am Meghan began to push. Although we thought we were making progress, even after 1.5 hours of pusing, it wasn't enough. Drew was still in an awkward position and a normal birth was just not possible. Our only other option was a C Section, so that is what was done.

At 7:57am on Feb 10th, Drew was born weighing in at 7lbs 10oz and 2o.25 inches long!
